Burford Veterinary Hospital and Colborne Veterinary Clinic Launch New Programs to Make Pet Care More Affordable for Local Families
Burford, ON & Simcoe, ON — SEPTEMBER 9, 2025 — Burford Veterinary Hospital and Colborne Veterinary Clinic are proud to announce a series of new initiatives designed to address the growing need for affordable and accessible veterinary care within the community.
Recognizing the financial challenges many families face when it comes to pet healthcare, the clinics have introduced several programs that make routine and emergency care easier to manage:
The new Wellness Plan Program makes it possible for pet owners to spread the cost of their pet’s annual preventive care into manageable payments. Covering essentials such as annual exams, vaccinations, heartworm testing, and parasite prevention, the plans are fully customizable and available for pets of all ages — from puppies and kittens to senior companions. This approach allows families to budget for their pet’s health while ensuring consistent, high-quality care throughout the year.
Through the Referral Program, both the referring client and the new client receive a $50 credit toward services. With no limit on referrals, clients can continue to earn credits to use for any procedure, including more advanced care such as dental treatments.
For pets facing emergencies, Burford and Colborne offer immediate financing options through HUMM and MediPet Card, helping pet owners access urgent care without delay. The clinics also proudly partner with the Farley Foundation, which provides financial assistance to eligible individuals for emergency veterinary costs.
To further support the community, Colborne Veterinary Clinic in Simcoe is now open full days on Saturdays and Sundays (8 a.m. – 6 p.m.). This provides families with an accessible option for weekend veterinary care, reducing reliance on emergency-only clinics in the area.
“We know how deeply pets mean to families in our community, and we are committed to making veterinary care more accessible,” said Melissa Brighton, RVT & Operations Manager for both clinics. “By offering flexible payment options, referral benefits, and expanded hours, we hope to ease the financial and logistical barriers that sometimes prevent pets from getting the care they need.”
Burford Veterinary Hospital and Colborne Veterinary Clinic remain dedicated to compassionate, community-focused care, ensuring that every pet has access to essential services regardless of their family’s financial situation.
